Summer Event Tips & Tricks From The Home Gourmet

Why not plan a late summer party? Whether this is a corporate affair or something more intimate, there’s a lot of things to think about in the run up to an event and it’s difficult to know where to begin.. so, from us here at The Gourmet Group, here are some top planning tips from our experienced team:

1)    In the few months a year that the sun does decide to shine, it is important that we make the most of it, why not treat your friends and family to a BBQ. The Gourmet Group can create menus you are tailored specifically to your desires whilst also being as seasonal as possible. Try our favourite BBQ recipe of 2019 – barbecued leg of lamb with almonds and orange blossom served on a bed of fresh parsley.

2)    Why not have a drinks bar? And jazz it up by serving bespoke summer cocktails –  passion fruit martinis, tequila sunrise or Frosé, and for those who prefer a non-alcoholic drink, a fragrant and refreshing, springtime elderflower cordial is very easy to make. Or a help yourself drinks station serving pimms in glass bottles with a paper straw.

3)    In terms of the styling, a long rustic top trestle table and folding wooden chairs will help create a more relaxed feel to the day. These can be decorated with glass bottles of wild flowers or some simple green foliage running down to the middle. Having less garish table decorations also allows you room to be a bit more artistic when picking your crockery, copper cutlery and earthenware are always a popular combination

So, whatever your reason for throwing a party, The Gourmet Group would be delighted to help your vision come alive!
